"Teachers and Social Workers for a Safe Family"

The Civic Integration Fund implemented the project "Teachers and Social Workers for a Safe Family".

The project was implemented within the framework of the program "Cooperation for Strengthening the Family of Georgia". The program is funded by the EU and The Austrian Development Cooperation Agency has been implementing the project "Social Workers for Social Change in Eastern European Countries (SWIC)".

The project is implemented by the Association of Social Workers of Georgia in partnership with four partners, such as "HWA, Armenia Social Workers Association (AASW), Azerbaijan Social Work Public Union (ASWPU) and the Nursing Association of the Republic of Moldova (NARM).

The aim of the project is to support the strengthening of free families from Kvemo Kartli region through accumulation of knowledge existing in different sectors (social services, health, interior and education ministries, arts sphere). (The project was implemented in three municipalities of Kvemo Kartli region - Gardabani, Marneuli, Dmanisi).

Within the framework of the project systematic meetings were held with all the rings related to the safe environment of children and the strengthening of families free from violence.

Workshops were conducted with teachers, social workers, district inspectors and school bailiffs, strengthening the capacity of each member, to increase their sensitivity and to promote strengthening of mutual trust.

Within the framework of the project, the scenarios were developed by the groups on topical issues, based on which three series of animations were created:

  1. A premature marriage;
  2. Domestic violence;
  3. Bullying at school.

The adaptive comic book brochure was also published. Animation and comics were translated into Azeri language.
